The Board of Directors of the Gijón Port Authority has awarded a joint venture in which FCC Construcción is a member a contract to enlarge the port, with a budget of 579.2 million euros.

The work consists of the construction of three dikes with a total length of 3,834 m. The total size of the esplanade will be 145 Ha.

More than 2,500,000 m3 of concrete and 40,000 Tn of steel will be used in this construction project.
