City of Justice of Barcelona and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat

The government council of the Generalitat de Cataluña has awarded a concession to a joint venture in which FCC holds a 30% stake for the construction, maintenance and operation of the City of Justice near Plaza Cerdá in Barcelona and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat for a period of 35 years. The work is valued at some 305 million euros.

The complex is composed of 11 judicial buildings of various heights with three common basements.

This is the largest justice facility in Europe at 280,000 square metres, 210,000 m2 of which are reserved for the Generalitat de Cataluña for the administration of justice, 43,000 m2 for public parking and 26,000 m2 for other uses.

The complex was designed by the English architect David Chipperfield and by b720 Arquitectura.
