The Castellón Port Authority has awarded FCC phase one of the job to build the new south basin for the port of Castellón. The job consists of the construction of the breakwater, the initial alignment of the closing dock, and a yard.

The breakwater will be 465 meters long. The closing dock, 338 meters long, will be made up of eleven 33.75-meter-long caissons. Between breakwater and dock will stand the 656-meter-long conventional connecting dock, protected by enrockments or concrete blocks. The job will be finished with the dredging of the entrance channel and part of the basin, a total volume of some 800,000 m3.
