Madrid 2016 logo on Torre Picasso

The Madrid 2016 logo is being projected nightly on one of the facades of Torre Picasso in support of the city's bid to host the 2016 Olympic Games. It will continue to be projected until the night of 22-23 June.

Two 6,000-watt spotlights on an adjacent building project the logo onto the facade that faces Paseo de la Castellana.

FCC, which owns the building, is a preferred sponsor of the Madrid 2016 bid.

Madrid's candidacy has passed the first hurdle of the International Olympic Committee, along with three other cities, and is thus an official candidate to host the Games in 2016. Its rivals are Chicago, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro.

Standing 157 metres tall, with 43 stories, Torre Picasso has been a landmark of modern Madrid since its inauguration in 1989.
