The Rector of the University of Zaragoza, José Antonio Mayoral, and the Aragón-La Rioja branch director of FCC Medio Ambiente (the Spanish brand for FCC Environment) , Joaquín Jimenez López de Oñate, have signed an agreement for the creation of the "FCC Chair for Prevention of Occupational Risks and Human Resources”.

The new joint institution with the University of Zaragoza arises with an entity and relevance of its own, to which is added the close relationship enjoyed by the FCC group with the city, where it has provided environmental services since 1940.

The new chair will focus on the areas of Workplace Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Applied Psychosociology and Human Resources. Among its main objectives is the support for studies and research in the field of Prevention of Occupational Risks and Human Resources by the University of Zaragoza and support for blended learning in the Master's Degree in Human Resources at the university.

This collaboration agreement will also focus on the design and organization of outreach and training activities (conferences, seminars and specialization seminars), support for the completion of doctoral theses, final projects and student internships, as well as the awarding of prizes and scholarships, and producing publications according to the fields included within the scope of the chair.

This chair constitutes a strategic and long-term union between company and university, from which both parties will benefit from the results in research, development and innovation that will be developed jointly in different areas of knowledge, both from the scientific point of view as well as that of business.

The FCC Group is a world leader in community services, specializing in the environment, water and infrastructures. It operates in more than 35 countries through the company's main resource, its employees, in excess of 50,000 people, with a defined vocation of service to the citizen.
