FCC to upgrade Barcelona Metro's electrical installations

Gestora de Infraestructuras (GISA), a company owned by the Catalan Regional Government (Generalitat), has awarded Deneo Energía e Infraestructuras, S.A., an FCC subsidiary specialised in electrical installations, the contract to extend and upgrade the power supply to Barcelona Metro Line 4; the project also includes upgrading the Maragall, Verdaguer and Verneda substations and the "rail triangle".

The project, to be completed in 29 months, is worth 22 million euro.

Deneo is the current name of Montajes Gavisa, S.A., which was acquired by FCC in 2003. It includes part of Gavisa's structure and its over 25 years' experience in installing overhead contact power lines, signalling and communications systems for railways, as well as low-, medium- and high-tension power distribution systems and networks.
