The Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality has awarded FCC, SA (Environmental Services) and FCC Construcción the Equality in the Company Award. This mark of excellence serves to encourage and recognise companies committed to equality that have implemented policies aimed at promoting it in all ambits of the company. It also recognises all types of actions aimed at facilitating the conciliation of personal, family and professional life, laying out general objectives and articulating flexible measures that allow adapting to the diversity of situations and needs of our personnel.

The award was obtained after assessing the criteria for implementation and the results of the measures in the equality plans of both companies, the setting up of procedures and criteria for the periodic assessment of these plans, the application of positive action measures that actively encourage equal opportunities between men and women, the policy for the prevention of harassment in the FCC Group, the publicising of campaigns on gender violence and the employment insertion of women victims of gender violence as well as training actions both for access to employment and those others designed to promote women into positions of responsibility.

With these two new awards, the FCC Group now has four equality awards in the areas of Environmental Services, Water and Construction (including that of FCC Industrial), the obtaining of which is a distinction by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality for the work undertaken by FCC in 2008 when it signed the first company Equality Plan, which was followed by equality plans in the rest of the business areas.

Recently, and driven by the Environmental Services area, FCC signed the company's second Equality Plan with the Public Services Employees’ Federation of the Unión General de Trabajadores and with the Comisiones Obreras Construction and Services trade unions. The plan consists of a set of measures aimed at achieving equality of treatment and opportunities between women and men and eliminating any sign of discrimination on the grounds of gender.

One of the most important actions that FCC Construcción has undertaken in recent months in the area of equality was the holding of “Positive Disability Seminars," organised together with the Adecco Foundation, since for the company, awareness is one of the most important measures for achieving the involvement of the entire organisation in the contracting of disabled persons.
