FCC joins Sustainability Excellence Club

FCC today joined the Club de Excelencia en Sostenibilidad, a business association comprising large companies that seek growth which is sustainable in economic, social and environmental terms.

The accession document was signed by Baldomero Falcones, Chairman and CEO of FCC, and Eduardo Montes, President of the Club de Excelencia en Sostenibilidad.

FCC is the first company in the construction and services sector to join the Club. The move is a logical consequence of the Group's focus on social responsibility and sustainability in its activities and businesses. This commitment is expressed in FCC's new Strategic Plan, which envisages specific actions in this field which will be set out in the Group's new corporate social responsibility plan for 2009-2010.

FCC recently established its mission, vision and values as part of its Code of Ethics, which was approved by the Board of Directors. It has also just published its third CSR report, which received the highest rating (A+) from the GRI, and it is a pioneer in that practically all of its business areas disclose their commitments and progress in this area through their own specific sustainability reports.
