The Board of Directors of Aena has awarded a joint venture headed by FCC Construcción a contract for the construction of a new terminal and train area at the Barcelona Airport, valued at 301 million euros. The terminal will be a large building measuring 460 m long by 208 m wide, with a central area known as a processor out of which will run a 657 m long dock with three boarding levels.

More than 13,000 tons of steel will be used to build the metal structure, 56,000 tons of reinforcement steel, 350,000 m3 of concrete 122,000 m2 of granite pavement and 166,000 m2 of dropped ceiling. There will also be an underground train station.
