FCC Medio Ambiente has received the Sixth Environmental Award given out each year by the newspaper Expansión and the Garrigues Medio Ambiente consulting firm in collaboration with IESE to publicly recognise the efforts of Spanish enterprises and public administrations on behalf of the environment.

The project, presented by FCC Medio Ambiente and developed in collaboration with the University of Huelva, tries to define the environmental variables and indicators in solid urban waste (SUW) treatment processes.

Using a pilot experience at the SUW Treatment Centre in Valladolid, the development of this global business project involves the adoption of environmentally responsible practices by all personnel.
