The truck was put on the road once it had received approval following the completion of official testing, and after the necessary documentation had been obtained as required by Spanish legislation.

The vehicle was co-financed by the Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial (CDTI) (Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology) through the project “Development of a national 100% electric heavy truck for multiple services use,” project number IDI-20160031.

The vehicle is 100% electric powered for both drive and bodywork operation. The goals of this new environmentally-friendly technology is the reduction of pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions to ZERO and the reduction of noise emissions to the lowest possible value compared to equivalent vehicles on the market with other drive systems. It was also designed to achieve maximum energy efficiency with savings of over 70% compared to vehicles with conventional internal combustion engines. The introduction of this innovative technology in this type of vehicle will also increase FCC’s competitiveness.

The FCC group makes an important effort to develop new projects that improve the quality of its public service. The development of this new equipment puts the FCC group at the leading edge of technological innovation.
