FCC participates in the eighth Greencities urban intelligence and sustainability congress
FCC participated in the eighth Greencities Urban Intelligence and Sustainability Forum on 7th and 8th of June in Malaga, one of the main national meetings that focus on the use of new technologies in sustainable municipal management. The congress was attended by prestigious institutions, authorities, companies and professionals in the field.
With more than 115 years’ experience in providing municipal services, FCC uses technological innovation to improve the lives of people, and to make cities more sustainable and socially responsible places that respect their natural surroundings and help to preserve the environment.
The presence of FCC at this congress reaffirms its involvement and responsibility with a sector which it has been committed to since its inception. The sustainable development of smart cities remains of great importance to FCC’s Environmental Services business area.
In this congress, FCC Group had an exhibition stand offering information to those interested in its work in the environment and urban services sectors. It also participated in the discussion panel on the circular economy in which FCC Medio Ambiente Area II Director Manuel Ramírez represented FCC.
The circular economy is hailed as one of the viable solutions in the fight against climate change to limit the increase of global temperature to between 1.5 and 2 °C by the end of the century. It is estimated that around 50% of greenhouse gas emissions are associated with the consumption of raw materials.
