Esther Koplowitz, who is receiving homage by the Chamber of Commerce as 'Business person of the year', has another side that I would like to highlight, as the President of the Community of Madrid and on behalf of the people of Madrid.She has created a Foundation, whose budget for projects amounts to more than 100 million dollars, which carries out an extraordinary social work in our Community.ESTHER KOPLOWITZ FOUNDATION
Has always been committed to charitable work since the 70s. In 1995 she created the Foundation. Is the result of her concern to contribute to alleviating the needs of the most disfavoured members of society.
She personally oversees the projects their strategy reviews their implementation.

I remember, back in 2001, when I was the President of the Community of Madrid, one day she came to see me, and told me she wanted to donate to Madrid a home for the elderly and disfavoured.This was not an isolated gesture, because Esther has done a lot for Madrid. It was rather the living proof of her proximity and her concern; I was truly impressed by the personal interest she took in the project, finding and selecting the land, supervising construction, to the extent of choosing the pieces of furniture better suited for the elderly, she is a perfect example of the patronage and the generosity of a business leader.Madrid

Among a number of research projects, the Community is currently using the Da Vinci Robot to perform very complex surgical operations at the Hospital Clínico de Madrid; the robot has been fully financed by the Foundation Esther Koplowitz.Donation of the Da Vinci Robot to the Hospital Clínico San Carlos.This is the first remote surgery robot in a public Spanish hospital. 2006
