» 1900

  • Fomento de Obras y Construcciones, S.A. (Focsa) was founded on 3 July with a share capital of 5 million pesetas. Following the 1992 merger with Construcciones y Contratas, the company came to be known as FCC.
  • The first Project awarded to Focsa was the construction of the Spain, Balearic Island, New and Fishermen's wharfs at the Port of Barcelona.

  • Commencement of the construction of 10 km of the Girona to Olot railroad line.
  • Enlargement of the Port of Barcelona.
  • San Feliu de Guixols Port.
  • Urbanization of the Gran Vía Diagonal and Casanova.
  • Paving of the Paseo del Triunfo.

» 1910

  • Bituminous tarred road surfaces are used for the first time in Spain.
