Strength abroad

In 2010, FCC Construction won contracts worth €6,134 million, placing the portfolio value of its outstanding portfolio amounting to €9,984 million. Some 44.8% of this portfolio corresponds to contracts outside Spain.

Internationalisation has enabled us to make up for the decline in business in Spain. However, 80% of the FCC Construction's portfolio is made up of projects in the domestic markets of Spain, Austria, Germany, Portugal and Panama, and there is no uncertainty about whether these will be carried out.

FCC Construction's strategy to merge 10 its subsidiaries is allowing it to compete in the industrial sector, in which it expects to take €500 million in 2011, compensating for the decline in civil works through the emerging business of responding to the need for energy infrastructure all over the world.

The 10 subsidiaries posted a total turnover of €300 million in 2010, and FCC Industrial expects to exceed this figure by more than 66%.
