On 3 December, FCC joined the events celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This day wants to remind that the company maintains and reinforces daily its commitment to this group, and advances in its commitment to be a company increasingly diverse and socially responsible, promoting actions and projects to promote inclusion and equality through em- ployment. This year, the theme of the Inter- national Day of Persons with Disa- bilities (IDPD) is “Participation and Leadership of Persons with Disabi- lities: Development Agenda 2030”. It focuses on the empowerment of persons with disabilities for inclusive, equitable and sustainable develop- ment, and the commitment to “leave no one behind” by considering disa- bility as a cross-cutting issue in the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). More than 1,200 people in the FCC Group have a recognised disability, as do more than a thousand million people worldwide, 80% of them in developed countries. FCC’s commitment to diversity and workplace inclusion involve different actions and management strate- gies, such as: • Direct contracting and throu- gh specialised entities like the Once-Inserta and the La Caixa Foundations. • Promoting purchases and the contracting of services with Spe- cial Employment Centres, a ben- chmark for which is FCC Equal belonging to FCC Medio Am- biente. • Supporting education and entre- preneurship programs, collabo- rating with the Prevent Founda- tion “Aula Emprendedores” for entrepreneurs with disabilities. • Working on the accessibility of our buildings, adapting spaces and making them suitable.
