The Cementos Portland Valderrivas Group has once again set an exam- ple in its work with people. The com- pany has once again demonstrated the solidarity that has characterized it since the beginning of its history, always present in its daily activi- ties. The Group’s factory in Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville), which has been operating in the town for five decades now, has donated a batch of baby food and diapers, valued at 3,000 euros, to the town council with the aim of helping the neediest chil- dren in the region. Virginia Gil, delegate of Social Affairs and Public Health of the Municipality of Alcalá de Guadaíra, received the lot of products in the Center of Social Services of the locality, at the hands of a team formed by representatives of the Group. Great solidarity work by Cementos Portland Valderrivas to help the children of the most needy families in Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville) In this same line, three charities, among which are the Association of Children’s Resources Ropero del Socorro de la Hermandad de Jesús, Cáritas and the Red Cross, will be responsible for making effective their distribution among families. Bearing in mind the health crisis ge- nerated by the arrival of COVID-19 throughout 2020, Cementos Port- land Valderrivas contacted the Alca- lá de Guadaíra City Council to make itself available and find out where the greatest needs of its inhabitants were located. As a result of this coordina- tion, the donation of basic children’s products, such as food and diapers, was agreed. There are many initiatives of econo- mic and social support that from the cement factory are carried out in the town. They include support for the women’s soccer club, the purchase of equipment for schools in the area, the organization of competitions, en- vironmental training and the visiting program for schoolchildren, which in 2019 involved more than 500 people. On the other hand, the company de- velops sustainability policies through the implementation of quality, en- vironmental and occupational risk prevention management systems, as well as in the reduction of CO 2 emis- sions through improvements in pro- duction processes and the potential use of non-recyclable waste. Representatives of the City Council of Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville) receive the donation made by the Group Cementos Portland Valderrivas. P E O P L E 25 P E O P L E
