In Colombia, Aqualia is also in the final phase of the project for the design, construction and operation of the El Salitre WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant), located in Bogotá. The plant, already in operation, treats a flow of more than 600,000 cubic metres of water per day (m3/day), which is equivalent to around 7,000 litres per second. The plant serves three million people in the Colombian capital and includes one of the largest facilities in Latin America for the production of electricity from biogas. Aqualia is currently present in four Latin American coun- tries: Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Peru, as well as in four- teen other countries on three continents.
