The Cementos Portland Valderri- vas Group and the trade unions CCOO, UGT and USO, signed on 6 July, its 2nd Equality Plan, a docu - ment that marks the way to achieve equal treatment and opportunities for all workers within the Group, and avoids any possible discrimination. The HR management has pointed out: “it is an important update, first - ly because of the adaptation to the new labour reality of the companies, and also because it is based on the Royal Decree 6/2019 and 901/2020, which includes all the matters and practices in equality matters that the current regulations require”. “We promote ethical principles and values, implementing a series of programmes, internal procedures and positive measures that seek to 1. Consolidate an organisational cul- ture committed to the management of equality in order to advance in the mainstreaming of corporate policies, launched with the first Plan in 2009. create a working atmosphere where respect amongst people and equal opportunities for women and men is effective and real in the company”, “an egalitarian working environment not only contributes to the well-be- ing of people, but also makes as- pects such as creativity and pro- ductivity more evident within the organisation”. For equality to be real and effecti - ve, it is essential to have a balan- ced presence of women and men at all levels, areas and occupations. Along these lines, the Plan establi- shes actions to promote the presen- ce of women at all levels, favouring an increase in the participation of female workers in training program- mes for the development of female talent and in mentoring programmes to increase their presence in leader- ship positions, and in all those whe- re they are under-represented. In the words of the Equality Coordi - nator, “the 2nd Equality Plan expres - ses zero tolerance for sexual and gender-based harassment, which is an unacceptable expression of violence and a violation of people’s fundamental rights”. We have implemented different me - chanisms to pursue these conducts in an agile, rapid and confidential manner, sanctioning with the esta- blished measures those who esta- blish this type of conduct. 3. Promote a balanced presence of wo- men and men in all areas and ope- rational and management positions. 4. Incorporate the gender perspective in all areas and policies of the com- pany to disseminate the values of equality.
