Aqualia began its activity in the country in 2016, with its participa- tion in the PTAR Salitre Expansion consortium, a consortium that it leads and whose mission is to ma- nage the expansion of the El Salitre wastewater treatment plant, a key project for improving the sanitation system of the city of Bogotá and its surroundings. In 2020, it consolidated its presen- ce in Colombia with two operations that the company developed in pa- rallel and with which it obtained its de Aracataca; Aquamag Fundación; Aquamag Retén and Aguas del Sur del Atlántico into the perimeter. In addition, in the month of June, the operation of Riohacha, capital of La Guajira, began, with which the com- pany exceeds 1.2 million inhabitants served in Colombia, making it the second largest private operator in the country. It should be noted that in the Aguas de la Sabana and Rui- toque concessions, Aqualia owns the assets. Aqualia in Colombia first operations for the management of the end-to-end urban water cycle in Latin America. Aqualia has continued with the construction of the El Salitre Was- tewater Treatment Plant in Bogota, which treats the water of three mi- llion inhabitants. The plant is expec- ted to be completed in 2023. In 2022, Aqualia incorporated the services of Flandes; Ruitoque; Aguas de la Sabana; Aguas de la Península; Aguas de Albania; Aguas El Salitre wastewater treatment plant, Bogotá (Colombia).
