Cartagena-Vera Highway

FCC Construcción is the head of a consortium which has been awarded a contract by the Ministry of Development to build and operate the Cartagena-Vera (Murcia and Almería) Highway measuring 98 km long for a period of 38 years. The budget for the project is 586 million euros.

The winning consortium is composed of FCC Construcción, Ploder, Autopista del Sureste, Iniciativas de Infraestructuras y Servicios and the CAM, Cajamar and Unicaza savings banks. FCC has a 50% stake in the consortium.

The contract also calls for the construction of a toll-free beltway around Cartagena measuring 16 km long, A total of 20 million cubic metres of land will be moved between levelling and embankments. The Project also involves the construction of three double tunnels measuring 1,145. 2,395 and 533 m long, 12 viaducts with prefabricated beams, 24 overpasses, 30 underpasses, and toll areas.
