Dieter Kiefer appointed Chairman of Cementos Portland Valderrivas

  • José Ignacio Martínez-Ynzenga remains on the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of Cementos Portland Valderrivas has appointed Dieter Keifer as its Chairman; he succeeds José Ignacio Martínez-Ynzenga, who will remain on the Board.
 
Kiefer will continue as CEO of FCC subsidiary Cementos Portland Valderrivas, a position to which he was appointed in June 2008.
 
Swiss-born Dieter Kiefer graduated from Insead (Advanced Management Program) and holds an MBA from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland).
 
He has held a range of positions of responsibility in the UBS Group, including: Regional Manager for Western Europe in the area of Wealth Management, and CEO of UBS Luxembourg.
 
He was also Managing Director of Global Trade Finance, Managing Director of the Global Financial Institutions Group, and Regional Manager, Western Hemisphere (North and South America). From 2007, he was a member of the Management Committee of the UBS Group, and Head of the Large Accounts Area for Western Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
 
He has had a lengthy career in the international financial sector, and was head of the SBC Corporate Banking department in New York, and representative of UBS in Brazil, Mexico and Venezuela.
 
José Ignacio Martínez-Ynzenga holds a degree in Physics, and has been at Cementos Portland Valderrivas for more than 35 years. He has held very senior positions, including 10 years as Technical General Manager. He was appointed Managing Director in October 2002, and Chairman in 2006.
