FCC supports the International Day of Persons with Disabilities

In full support of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, FCC recognises the right of persons with disabilities to work, under equal conditions and with equal opportunities, in a freely chosen or accepted position within an open, inclusive and accessible working environment.

Furthermore, at FCC, in line with our Equality and Diversity policy, we introduce and develop working practices to guarantee that no current or potential member of staff is treated unfavourably because of their disability or for any other unjustified reason that is not based on professional skills, knowledge and performance.

This year, the FCC Group signed the Spanish Diversity Charter, an initiative under which the company reinforces its commitment to the fundamental principles of equality, non-discrimination, support of diversity and respect for individual differences.

There are people with disabilities all over the world and at all levels of society, and equal opportunities constitute an unwavering foundation of all activity at FCC. As such, at FCC we understand that equality means respecting differences.

Over the coming days, at our head office in Las Tablas, Madrid, we will be running a range of activities including a meeting chaired by Ana Villacañas, the FCC Group Organization Manager. Various members of the Inserta Programme run by the ONCE foundation, which FCC has been working with for a number of years, will join Ana Villacañas at this meeting, including Pedro Méndez, Inserta Programme Management consultant, who will share his inspiring story. A photography exhibition and screenings of various videos and films have also been organised to mark this International Day.
