Marcelino Oreja will continue as the non-executive Chairman of FCC

Marcelino Oreja will continue as the non-executive Chairman of FCC at the request of the Group's Board of Directors at its meeting yesterday.

The initiative of Esther Koplowitz, with the support of the FCC Board of Directors, means that Marcelino Oreja, who had planned to resign following the General Meeting of Shareholders to be held on 21 June in Barcelona, will continue in his post.

Following the reorganisation process undertaken by the Group, with the appointment of Rafael Montes as the Managing Director, Marcelino Oreja, will act as the institutional chairman.

Marcelino Oreja recently received the Second Otto of Hapsburg award granted by the Spanish Committee of the PanEuropean Union in recognition of his career as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Secretary General of the European Council, member of parliament and European Commissioner and for his work "on behalf of a united, freer and more supporting Europe". In addition this award, he is also the recipient of a medal for his work on European integration awarded by the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs.
