FCC Medio Ambiente (the Spanish brand for FCC Environment) has joined the group of companies that are part of the Climate Change Cluster led by Forética and has participated in its first annual meeting to analyse the main global trends associated with the financial impacts of climate change, welcome the eleven new companies joining the Cluster and present the agenda and membership of the group in 2018.

In the meeting, the next steps of the future Law of Climate Change and Energy Transition were announced, by the Head of the Climate Change Spanish Office, Valvanera Ulargui, who reviewed the aspects through which proposals made by the Cluster companies will be put into Law. Key elements for regulation such as financing, private sector measures, governance, economic impact or strategies for adaptation.

During the session, the Cluster companies participated in business dynamics which provided them with an initial approach to the assessment methodology and quantification of climatic risks, which forms the basis of the work that will be undertaken over the year.

The Climate Change Cluster aims to transfer to the business context the main trends in climate change, generate conversations and practical solutions in this area and establish a dialogue between companies, public administrations and opinion leaders in this matter.
