Esther Koplowitz attends the presentation of Gustavo Villapalos with an Honorary Degree from King Juan Carlos University

Esther Koplowitz, first vice-chairman and core shareholder of FCC, attended the investiture ceremony for Gustavo Villapalos, a director of FCC, and former rector and Minister of Education for the Madrid region, who received an Honorary Degree from King Juan Carlos University. The event, which was held this morning on the University campus, coincided with the start of the academic year.

Villapalos is a professor of History of Law and Institutions at the Complutense University of Madrid. He is currently dean of the Law School, and he was rector of the University from 1985 to 1995. That same year he was appointed Minister of Education, Culture and Sport for the Madrid region, a position he held until 2001. In addition to Esther Koplowitz, other leaders in education and business also attended the ceremony, including Esther Alcocer, chairman of the Board of Directors of FCC, the Citizen Services Group.

Gustavo Villapalos is also a director of Cementos Portland Valderrivas and a member of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation. He has an honorary degree from the University of Lisbon, Paris 13 University, Charles University in Prague, the National University of La Plata (Argentina) and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), among others.
