FCC to build a subsection of the Madrid-Valencia AVE

The Ministry of Development has awarded FCC, in a joint venture with another company, a contract to build the Siete Aguas-Buñol subsection, located in the province of Valencia, of the Madrid-Castilla La Mancha-Valencia Community-Region of Murcia high speed train. The contract is valued at 322,697,400 euros and will take 34 months to complete.

The subsection will be 11.2 km long and will include the construction of three tunnels, one measuring 7.252 metres long running through the La Cabrera mountains which will be executed with a bitube section; and the Buñol and Siete Aguas tunnels measuring 1.858 m and 224 m long, respectively. Two viaducts will also be built, one over the Hondo de Mussegar ravine measuring 224 m long and another over the Gallo riverbed measuring 50 m long.

The contract award also calls for the construction of structures, the replacement of affected services and rights of way, the construction of transversal connections to ensure the permeability of the line and drainage work.
