SNBA, the biggest operator at Brussels airport, contracts Flightcare in Belgium

The Belgian airline companies SNBA and Virgin have contracted the Spanish company Flightcare, an FCC subsidiary, to conduct ramp handling operations at Brussels airport for the next two years.

This means catering for over 150,000 movements with an estimated income of above 70 million euros. Operations carried out by both companies amount to 36% of all traffic at Brussels airport.

This keeps Flightcare in the position of leading handler at Brussels airport with a 70% market share.

Brussels airport is presently one of the five best as regards punctuality, SNBA appearing as one of the three most punctual European companies.

The airport has been awarded by the Airports Council International (ACI) as the best European airport in 2005 along with Copenhagen airport and as the third best airport in the world in its category (airports handling between 15 and 25 million passengers a year).

The prize is based upon satisfaction surveys conducted among 100,000 users in 73 airports throughout the world, comprising of a total of 32 quality parametres such as employee efficacy or the high quality of services rendered at the airports.

Since the year 2003, Brussels airport has been classified as being among the five best airports in Europe.

In 2002 FCC began to manage handling operations at Brussels airport after acquiring SABENA airline assets. With this operation Flightcare became the top handling operator in Belgium. Likewise, Flightcare has increased its presence in Belgium with operations at Ostend and Liege airports.
