Diversification and international expansion: key of our strategy

FCC's balanced business model incorporates environmental services, end-to-end water management, infrastructure, cement and real estate management activities.

The Group's strategy is built on three pillars: differentiation, competitiveness and profitability.

These are the different strategies for each of our main business units:

Environment: experience and leadership

Environmental activity encompasses environmental services, mainly related to the comprehensive management of urban and industrial waste, where treatment, recycling and energy recovery predominate; and municipal services such as waste collection, street cleaning or maintenance of parks and gardens, among other activities linked to the needs of urban areas.

FCC Environment is a leader in Spain (as FCC Medio Ambiente) and the international markets: with over 110 years of experience, its subsidiaries operate in United Kingdom (through FCC Environment UK) Central Eastern Europe (with FCC Environment CEE) and the United States (FCC Environmental Services).

Our strategy is based on maintaining our leadership in Spain and keep growing in international markets, based on three pillars: innovation, sustainability and social responsibility.

FCC is among the top 7 global players that deliver Environmental Services: attends to more than 66 million people at ; over 5,200 municipalities in 11  different countries; manages 24,5 million tons of solid waste per annum in its 800 treatment, recycling and disposal centres; and holds 13  Waste-to-Energy projects with a power output in excess of 435 MWe.

Water: growth and specialization

The water management activity is carried out through Aqualia, one of the few companies able to undertake projects for any of the uses of water: human, industrial or agricultural.

It is the first in its sector in Spain, the third largest private company in Europe and the seventh in the world, according to the latest ranking of the specialized publication Global Water Intelligence (GWI).

Aqualia, a leader in the Spanish market, aims to renew the confidence of administrations and companies currently rely on it. Internationally, and after 10 years of experience abroad, the company maintains its cautious expansion, investing in projects that require a high specialization and offer guarantees.

Real Estate Area: spaces developed with an end-to-end approach

The philosophy behind the real estate activity is based on generating value for customers, by offering products and services adapted to new habits and trends, and for shareholders, by maximising profits.

The real estate area team combines two types of profiles, the experience of seniors with the energy and digital skills of juniors. Therefore, it is possible to address all property development and management process phases with an end-to-end approach.

The commitment to innovation, sustainability, social responsibility and the optimisation of the user experience guide the design of all spaces projected, built and managed, in the search for a world that is increasingly respectful of society and the environment.
