The FCC Group is once again taking part in the #ODSporBandera campaign, organised by the UN Global Compact Spain, which aims to highlight the commitment of businesses, institutions and the public to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to strengthen the collective action needed to accelerate their achievement.
This edition takes on particular significance as the 2030 Agenda enters its decisive phase. With less than four years to go until the deadline set by the United Nations for achieving the SDGs, the campaign calls for efforts to be stepped up and for partnerships to be strengthened to enable progress towards more sustainable, inclusive and resilient development. As the UN Global Compact points out, global challenges relating to climate change, inequalities, the protection of natural resources and shared prosperity require a joint and coordinated response from all sectors of society.
With the aim of publicly reaffirming the value of its commitment to the 2030 Agenda, FCC is joining this international initiative, which brings together organisations from around the world under a single symbol: the SDG flag. This emblem transcends nationalities, sectors and ideologies, representing the shared determination to build a more sustainable future for people and the planet.
The FCC Group, like all its business areas, remains firmly committed to sustainability, driving coordinated action through the Group’s Sustainability Committee. The progress and results achieved in this area are set out annually in the sustainability report, which is approved by the Board of Directors and at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.
Furthermore, the FCC Group has been a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact since 7 May 2007, the world’s largest initiative on corporate sustainability. Since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda in 2015, the company has worked to align its corporate management with the Sustainable Development Goals, through which it identifies new business opportunities, improves its relationships with its stakeholders and promotes innovation.
