FCC and its business divisions renew their commitment to the Diversity Charter

The FCC Group and its Environment, Water and Construction business divisions have renewed their commitment to the Diversity Charter in recognition of their equality and inclusion policies and their responsible management of people.

For its part, the Concessions business division has joined this initiative by signing the Diversity Charter for the first time. With this commitment, the Group continues to make progress in integrating diversity as a strategic element of its corporate culture and management model.

Diversity is a key priority for FCC, which actively promotes initiatives designed to foster inclusion, prevent all forms of discrimination and promote working environments in which everyone can fulfil their potential on an equal footing, thereby contributing to the well-being of its staff and the communities in which it operates.

Through this initiative, the Group instils these values in the more than 72,000 staff working across its main areas of activity, which specialise in environmental services, integrated water cycle management, infrastructure construction and the development of concession-based projects. These professionals are key to ensuring the Group is an organisation capable of attracting, developing and retaining talent from diverse backgrounds and circumstances, thereby fostering the contribution of new perspectives, innovative solutions and a greater understanding of the social, cultural and economic environments in which FCC operates.

A commitment that has been in place since 2014

FCC first signed up to the Diversity Charter in July 2014 and, since then, has progressively extended this commitment to all its areas of activity.

The signatory organisations undertake to incorporate into their day-to-day management the ten principles that inspire this initiative, including the promotion of equal opportunities, the building of diverse teams, inclusion in all people management policies, work-life balance, non-discrimination and the extension of these values to employees, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders.

These principles are fully aligned with FCC’s Equality and Diversity Policy, which positions diversity and inclusion as cross-cutting elements in all its activities and management processes.

A commitment on a European scale

The Diversity Charter forms part of an initiative promoted by the European Commission through the European Platform for Diversity Charters. In Spain, this initiative is managed by the Fundación Diversidad, an organisation responsible for promoting a voluntary framework that fosters diversity, inclusion and non-discrimination as fundamental values for business and social development.
